1979 VTL LED Tabletop football game. This game features a large multi-coloured display, 2 levels of skill and two player mode. Featuring Kevin Keegan on the packaging.
This example of the game is in Excellent physical condition, 8.5/10, with both battery covers - but we had issues getting it to run. The power slider is temperamental and while there is sound and bright display, the game does not settle. We did get the players to run around the pitch at one point, but could not get the controls to respond. Required some attention, but could be an easy fix.
The outer box is in Excellent condition, particularly considering its age, 9/10, and includes both poly inners.
LED Electronic games dominated the toy industry between 1977 and 1983. They use light emitting diodes to create displays made of lights. Later LED games use vacuum formed displays, which allow detailed coloured sprites to be animated on-screen. Today handheld and tabletop games rank amongst the most valuable and collectible retro game formats.
